Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5.00pm

We are delighted to be working with a recently established company looking for an experienced Head of Finance/Financial Controller/Finance Manager to lead their Finance team. This is an exciting role for a knowledgeable and commercially astute individual with sound working knowledge of commercial analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

The successful applicant will act as a business partner to the MD and management team, and they will be expected to deliver high quality, accurate financial information and analysis while challenging the business to drive results and profits.

Head of Finance duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Preparation of the annual budget and 3 year plan
* Preparing monthly re-forecasts
* Detailed cash flow forecasting
* Preparing analysis and information for the company''s funders
* Business partnering with management by providing commercial insight and analysis
* Responsible for monthly management accounts closing a detailed trial balance to year end standard
* Providing commentary and insight into the monthly management accounts and reviewing these with management and budget holders
* Documentation of controls and informing managers of their financial responsibilities and accountability for compliance
* Managing and developing the finance team, setting appropriate objectives
* Improving internal controls and processes and advise on opportunities to drive efficiencies across the business
* Supervising supplier payments
* Monitor FX requirements
* Liaising with Auditors during the annual audit
* Assist budget holders with the management and control of spend through analysis and monitoring
* Responsibility and oversight of the payroll function
* Reviewing legal contracts and agreements
* Ad-hoc duties as required by management

Head of Finance skills and experience required:

* A fully qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience is required
* Experienced in preparing detailed budgets and forecasting
* Experience of dealing with auditors and funders
* Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling
* Excellent attention to detail
* Able to identify issues early and develop sound solutions
* Excellent communication skills, confident in effectively discussing complex financial matters with less financially minded people
* Ability to learn new systems quickly and to coach team members
* A self-starter with an ability to drive results and affect change
* Experience within the retail sector is highly desirable
* Access to your own transport is essential for this role due to the location
