Duration: Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

We are thrilled to be working with a well-respected client, established over 20 years ago, in their search for an experience Accounts & payroll professional to join their small and friendly team. This role will see the successful candidate manage the company''s day-to-day finances, take on some HR responsibilities, and provide valuable assistance to the Sales and Services departments too during quieter times.

The main duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Credit control including allocation of customer payments within Sage, follow up overdue accounts and ensure any cheques are banked efficiently
* Invoicing all ''call-outs'' and planned works when advised by the Sales and Service departments as well as monthly invoicing for service contracts and contract renewals
* Raising credit notes if and when required
* Overall control of the Purchase Ledger
* Petty cash reconciliation
* Full Payroll for approx. 15 members of staff using Sage Payroll including calculating overtime, staff absence, P45s / P60s pension contributions and ensuring payments are made to staff as well as HMRC
* Quarterly VAT returns
* Verify new Subcontractors with HMRC
* Keep records all staff absences
* Issue and process paperwork for new starters and leavers
* Issuing letters and memos to staff as and when requested
* Minute taking in probationary/disciplinary meetings and follow up with relevant letters
* Any other administrative duties as and when required including quotes, data entry of engineer reports and more

Key skills and experience required:

* Experience of working in a similar accounts position is essential
* Good Numeracy skills
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* A good sense of humour!
* Organised, methodical and able to work well to deadlines
* Accurate
* Willing to work in other departments when required
* HR experience is useful but not essential
* Must have own transport due to semi - rural location
