Food Service / Catering Assistant - Award Winning School Contract Catering Team
We have a new exciting role available for an experienced Food Service / Catering Assistant to join this highly professional and skilled kitchen team. This position offers an exceptional work life balance, working between 8am and 3pm Monday to Friday. This would be a great job to fit around school hours, as it is term time only.
This position will be start temporary but there may be opportunities for a permanent position for the right candidate. You will receive a very competitive pay rate of £7.85 ph along with extra benefits and a great work life balance.
The Role – Food Service / Catering Assistant
As Food Service / Catering Assistant you will be maintaining and delivering exceptionally high standards in a high quality, time sensitive school catering environment. You will work as part of a large kitchen team so excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.
As this is an award winning catering team the highest standards of food preparation, delivery, presentation and cleanliness are paramount. This role is based both in the kitchen and front of house, so you will assist with basis food preparation, ensuring all food is served on time and serving the students in a friendly and efficient manner. You will be responsible for clearing the dining room at the end of service and will also be involved in preparation for conferences and outside catering.
Working in an extremely busy environment preparation and organisational skills are essential to ensure timings are strictly adhered to. The main lunch service provides meals for between 1500-2000 students and teachers within a 45 minute period.
As Food Service / Catering Assistant you will ideally have the following:
Experience of working in a high pressured, time sensitive environment
Have a passion for the catering industry
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to all health & safety regulations
Capable of maintaining continued exceptional high standards in food quality and presentation
Be a team player with the ability to communicate well with all age groups
Good organisational skills and a high level of self motivation
A good understanding of food safety
