Salary: up to £50,000 per annum (DOE)

An excellent opportunity has risen for an enthusiastic and mechanically competent and project bias Development Design Engineer / Project Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to join a successful manufacturer of material handling equipment in the Leicestershire area.
As the successful Development Design Engineer / Project Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer you will join an experienced team in producing mild and stainless steel fabricated products, bespoke equipment and system solutions (conveyors, hoppers, bulk handling machinery, access platforms, structural steel and precision fabrications).
·Undertaking design from conception to completion, managing all aspects of the design process for managing the roll out of various projects running at any one time
·Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
·Occasional carrying out of site surveys for line layouts and design detail / working with clients to come up with design ideas and solutions for i.e. fully integrated materials handling systems
·Undertaking and oversee of the design of bespoke machinery, equipment
·Compiling and producing technical and W.I manuals
·Effectively communicating with the shop floor regarding design changes and any manufacturing issues
·Machinery design experience - essential
·The ability to effectively Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) - essential. Ideally with a good understanding of conveyors and handling systems
·Qualified in engineering: Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer - essential.
·Competency in and good working software knowledge of Inventor 3D CAD Software- essential
·Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes
·Competency in carrying out site surveys and working with clients to produce the best design ideas and solutions
·The ability to confidently and effectively explain design changes
·The ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
·Project management experience - preferred
·Understanding of current cutting tool technology - advantageous
